The Model It ! workshop was a highly engaging and challenging workshop that explored the means of expressing architectural ideas through physical modelling. The workshop introduced basic modelling skills with a key emphasis on accurate understanding, precision and neatness in modelling. While I had been exposed to modelling tasks in semester one, this workshop offered a more detailed and systematic introduction to the key elements of modelling. It has helped me learn of the different types of models, ie Process models which are quickly constructed models to represent potential ideas and concepts. Presentation models on the hand are more focused on neatness and precision for a accurate representation. Modelling the Church of Light and the Norman Fisher House also helped me gain great insight into the both these structures. At the conclusion of this workshop, I better understand how to utilize model making materials and tools, to create precise and aesthetically pleasing models in quick time.
